Malcolm Campbell
Malcolm has over 25 years experience in the telecoms industry, specialising in the satellite and broadcast sector. He is a highly skilled senior executive with considerable experience of developing and implementing market entry strategies to promote business growth. His experience includes developing innovative and customer focused products and services which have lead to considerable increases in revenue.
His early career was spent at BT where he joined the TV business unit in 1989 and progressed to senior manager responsible for all video contribution services. He then moved on to IDB Europe and BT Broadcast Services where he was responsible for sales and commercial management of all BT media related products and services.
Most recently Malcolm was Vice President of Media Sales at Intelsat where he was responsible for International sales of Intelsat media industry products and services.
Highlights in his highly successful career include:
- Europe; Intelsat 10-02; achieved sales of over 90% of capacity across three beams. Developed a new DTH location at one degree for Eastern Europe with customers now operating into Romania, Hungary, Serbia and Macedonia. Consolidated the Telenor/Canal Digital package of transponders.
- Latin America; Successfully promoted Intelsat 805 as mainstream cable distribution bird; achieved capacity of 95% with top tier customers such as Fox Sports, TV Globo and Viacom.
- UK SNG; Intelsat 603 now carries 5 transponders of UK SNG services via SISLink and their end user customers Sky News, ITN and BBC. Expansion is underway into Italy and Spain.
- India cable; Intelsat APR-1/Insat 2E is over 95% full containing multiple transponders for ETV, multiplex service for VSNL and single channels for such as TV Today and ABC9.
- Pacific; Intelsat 701; introduced new DTH services for Fiji TV and City West; achieved expansion of Media Overseas and OPT.
- Africa; responsible for launch of full DTH service for Trend TV into Nigeria.
- Responsible for the launch of BT teleports in Paris, Washington DC and Los Angeles; established Rome, Berlin and Brussels sales offices.
- Responsible for the launch of BT Martlesham teleport and co-operation agreement with Panamsat
- Developed a range of services for BT around the Eurobird satellite, with 6 multiplexed transponders into UK DTH market.
